CFAL is an active sponsor and participant in civic organizations and functions. Our management and staff regularly provide their time, advice and funds for specific community affairs. CFAL’s continued participation among local and international bodies concerned with the betterment of society further help to fulfill our obligation to be good corporate citizens.
Since CFAL opened its doors in 1997 we have prided ourselves in being a good corporate citizen and has contributed over one million dollars($1,000,000.00) in charitable gifts to over 100 charities, which do considerable work in assisting the underprivileged, feeding the hungry, supporting educational pursuits and so much more
At CFAL, we believe that education is the key to success and future viability of any society. CFAL is contributing to the future of young people in The Bahamas through programs such as our biennial Pension Seminar, the CFAL’s Junior Investor Education Program and our Financial Planning Clinic. It is through this commitment that we are able to improve the quality of life for our employees, customers and the people of The Bahamas.
The Junior Investor program, developed by CFAL, is a financial literacy course that allows students an opportunity to manage a virtual $100,000 stock portfolio. The winner of the program will be determined by the school that has the highest return for their portfolio while maintaining a balanced investment strategy. The school that finishes in first place will receive $3,000. Second and third place prizes are cash awards of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. Members of past teams are also afforded internships at CFAL.
As sponsor of the program, CFAL donates the time of its securities analysts and traders to facilitate trade instructions and coach classes in the finer points of analyzing the Bahamian securities market and the global investment climate.
