The Government of the Bahamas closed out Fiscal Year (FY) 2018/19 with mixed results. Real gross domestic product (GDP), while positive, has been subdued, averaging a mere 0.07% over the past six years (2013 – 2018). Despite this, The Bahamas has also had a healthy stream of foreign direct investments, peeking in 2010 to $871.90 million or 11.02% of GDP. A relatively large portion of this amount, 67.0%, was allocated to equity investments in companies and 33.0% to land purchases.
